Students are accommodated with a family in homestay accommodation, all of which have been inspected by the school to ensure they provide a safe, clean and comfortable environment to relax and study.

Homestays are located in residential areas around Bournemouth but not in the town centre itself. Many are within 20 minutes walk from the town centre or on a main bus route. During the high season, homestay locations could be farther out.

Inclusive in the price of homestay accommodation is breakfast and dinner everyday and also lunch at the weekends, bed linen, Wi-Fi and at least one laundry wash per week.(Extra laundry washes may be charged by the homestay).

  • Students requesting homestay should apply for single room accommodation if coming to the UK alone. Twin room homestays are reserved for 2 students coming together as we cannot guarantee availability in a twin room for single applicants.
  • We will consider reasonable student requests when arranging a homestay but it is not a guarantee and will ultimately depend on availability at the time of booking.
  • During the high season, homestay is extremely busy and students can expect to be  located up to 30 minutes away by bus.
  • All accommodation fees must be paid to the school, and the school will pay the homestay or residence.
  • United World reserve the right to charge a further arrangement fee of £45 should the student request a change of homestay.
  • It is the responsibility of the student to give the school and homestay a minmum of 1 week’s notice should they wish to leave the accommodation early. Should the student leave without a weeks notice, then the student will still be liable to pay for that week.
  • Students who leave homestay accommodation early will be refunded the homestay fees less 15% of the remaining weeks.
  • Students who require homestay are required to book for a minimum of 2 weeks.

We will try to meet the needs of the individual but cannot guarantee location or availability.

The school reserves the right to change the accommodation fees at short notice.

The school also advertises private accommodation such as self-catering shared houses and student hotels on its school notice board. Students can enter into private arrangements with the landlords, however, these properties have not been inspected. It is the school’s recommendation that a minimum of 2 weeks’ homestay accommodation is arranged before entering private accommodation.
