About us

Why Choose United World?

United World is a popular school situated in the cosmopolitan town centre of Bournemouth on the south coast of England. Its seven miles of sandy beaches and beautiful surrounding forest make it an ideal location to study and relax.

The popularity of United World lies in our desire to listen to students and offer flexible courses at an affordable price. We are one of the most competitively priced schools in Bournemouth. However, we do not compromise on quality.

Our objective is to develop a course based on your individual requirements, whether you are aiming to learn English for career development opportunities, a course at university or simply for pleasure. Students who attend United World come from all over the world and many make friends for life. Our minimum age requirement is 16 for adult courses and 11 for junior courses. All you need is a desire to learn.

School Premises & Facilities

Our school is located in the heart of the town centre, within easy walking distance of shops, bars, restaurants and the beach. The building is spacious and modern with its own pleasant grounds and outside seating area for students.

The school is equipped with 11 modern classrooms, a book lending facility, and free wireless. Classes have a maximum of 16 students rising to 18 in the high season (June to September) with the focus on student participation.

There is also a student lounge with a cafe and TV where students can relax and chat to friends over a coffee and a snack.

Teaching Staff

All of our teachers are qualified and experienced and perform a supportive and friendly role for our students. They use the latest course books and modern teaching techniques and will monitor your progress throughout your course giving advice with regular feedback and tutorials.

They take part in frequent in-service training to maintain their high standard of teaching and classroom management skills. Their enthusiasm and professionalism ensures an enjoyable learning experience.

Student Welfare

Your welfare is important to us. On arrival you will receive our student handbooks, which give useful school and local information including emergency advice and a school contact number for any concerns you may have day or night.

A member of staff is always available to provide support and assistance for any problems you may experience, which are dealt with sympathetically and discreetly.

Social Activities & Excursions

United World regularly uses a cost-effective student travel agency which organises trips and excursions to interesting and exciting locations and events across the UK and Europe. These are advertised in the school and can be booked at reception.

We also organise our own limited range of day trips and weekend excusions on a regular basis and again these are advertised on the school notice board and can be booked in reception.

You can also join in on one of our regular activity evenings or barbecues which are usually free of charge.

Information on events taking place locally is displayed on our notice board and staff members will always be available to help organise sports and social activities.

“United World has grown into a well-established school since its foundation in 1998. As a former language teacher myself and having worked in schools throughout Europe and the UK, I recognise the importance of flexibility and the need to adapt to the requirements of the individual student.
We hope our school meets your needs and look forward to seeing you in the future.”
